Super Boof Smoke Review

When we first got our grubby little paws on Super Boof, we were more than a little excited. After taking first place in the High Times Medical Cup (Hybrid Flower category) and third place in the Ice Water Hash category at the Emerald Cannabis Cup in 2022, it felt like a good time to see what all the noise was about.

With that said, awards don’t always tell the full story, so we gave Super Boof a proper run before forming any opinions.

After a slightly longer-than-usual curing period (we wanted to make sure everything had settled properly), we broke out a few nugs and threw them straight into the grinder. From the very first twist, the aroma filled the room — loud, fruity, and unmistakably modern.

The smoke itself was creamy and thick without feeling harsh. From our experience, the effects built gradually, starting with a noticeable buzz behind the eyes before spreading into a more full-bodied, tingly sensation that settled comfortably in the limbs. It felt balanced rather than overwhelming, which made it easy to enjoy without feeling rushed.

The next day, we decided to try Super Boof through a dry herb vaporiser to see how the experience compared.

Vaped at around 172°C, the terpene profile really came through. Early pulls leaned heavily into sharp berry notes, followed by deeper layers of skunky diesel and a citrus-lime edge as temperatures increased. When vaporised, the effects felt slower to arrive than when smoked, taking around 10 minutes to fully show themselves.

Once they did, though, the experience was long-lasting. In our case, the effects remained noticeable for several hours before gradually tapering off into a lighter afterglow. As always, individual responses vary depending on tolerance, dose, and context.

What does Super Boof taste like?

With parent strains like Tropicana Cookies and Black Cherry Punch, Super Boof was always likely to lean heavily into flavour — and that’s very much what we found.

The profile is well balanced, opening with notes of blackberries and sour cherries before giving way to softer vanilla tones. Toward the end, there’s a light diesel edge that keeps things grounded and stops the sweetness from becoming overpowering.

Overall, it’s a lightly complex flavour profile that feels deliberate rather than messy, and one of the main reasons this strain has built a following among terpene-focused growers and consumers.

How does Super Boof make you feel?

Super Boof is often reported to test in the high-20% THC range, with some lab results showing figures up to around 30%, depending on phenotype, growing conditions, harvest timing, and testing methods.

In our experience, the effects leaned toward a full-bodied, balanced high. The initial head-focused buzz lasted around 20 minutes before easing into a calmer, more settled feeling. Rather than being sharply energising or deeply sedating, it felt somewhere in the middle — relaxed but still mentally present.

Many users describe Super Boof as uplifting and calming at the same time, which likely explains its appeal as a general-purpose hybrid. As always, effects can vary significantly between individuals, and nothing here should be taken as medical advice.

How to grow Super Boof seeds

From our runs, Super Boof seemed to prefer slightly warmer, drier conditions, particularly during the later stages of vegetative growth and early flowering. When those variables were dialled in, the plant responded with strong structure and dense bud development.

Indoors, we ran Super Boof under HPS lighting, starting at 600W and later increasing output once the plants were established. Temperatures sat around 78°F with roughly 50% humidity for most of the cycle, before being lowered slightly toward the final weeks. These aren’t strict requirements, but they’re conditions the strain appeared to respond well to in our setup.

Outdoors, growers often report better results when plants are kept protected from prolonged moisture. The buds tend to develop densely, which means excess rain or high humidity late in flower can become an issue if not managed.

Super Boof also handled training well in our experience. We found it responded positively to topping and heavier stress techniques, filling out a ScrOG screen with little complaint. That said, how far you push training will always depend on environment, timing, and grower preference.
