Growing GG4
GG4 can reach around 180–220 cm, so it needs more vertical space than many medium-sized hybrids. The plant also develops enough side growth to form a broad canopy, which means both height and width should be considered before flowering begins.
Early topping or low-stress training can help keep the main branches at a more even level. This improves light distribution and prevents one or two stems from dominating the canopy. Complete most structural work during vegetative growth, then allow enough headroom for the stretch after the light cycle changes.
One thing to plan for is the weight of the flowers. GG4 produces dense, resin-rich buds that can pull branches downward late in bloom. Add stakes, a support net, or soft ties before the stems begin bending sharply. Supporting the canopy early is much easier than trying to lift heavy branches once the flowers are fully developed.
Keep air moving through the plant throughout flowering. The dense canopy benefits from good spacing and steady circulation, particularly during the final weeks when the buds carry the most weight and resin.
Yield Potential
Under suitable indoor conditions, GG4 can produce more than 600 g/m². Its natural branching and strong flower production give it excellent potential, but the canopy needs to be trained and supported so the available light reaches several main sites.
Avoid overcrowding plants, as the lower branches need enough light and airflow to contribute properly. Outdoors, warm conditions, direct sun, and enough root space allow GG4 to develop into a large plant capable of a generous harvest by the end of September.
