AK47 Feminized Seeds
AK47 has remained popular for decades because it brings together genetics from Colombia, Mexico, Thailand, and Afghanistan in a way that feels balanced rather than confused. Its influence on modern cannabis breeding made it an important strain for us to include, but only if our selection stayed true to the qualities behind its reputation. We worked with trusted breeding partners to recreate that familiar mix of energetic effects, manageable growth, and dependable performance. Our AK47 gives growers the chance to experience a genuine cannabis classic while meeting the consistency and quality standards we expect from every strain in the MSNL catalog.

STRAIN TRAITS
Growing AK47
AK47 can be moderately difficult to grow, although it becomes much easier to manage once you understand its stretch. Plants typically reach around 100–180 cm, and the sativa influence can add noticeable height after the switch to flowering. Leave enough room above the canopy and begin shaping the plant before that stretch gathers pace.
Topping works well because AK47 naturally redirects growth into several main branches. Follow it with LST and you can keep the canopy lower and more even, which helps indoor lights reach more of the developing flowers. Try to finish any major training before flowering is fully underway so the plant can focus on building buds rather than repairing damage.
This strain does not usually need heavy feeding to perform well. Increase nutrients gradually and watch how the leaves respond rather than jumping straight to a strong mix. More feed does not automatically mean more growth, and an overly rich root zone can create problems that take time to correct.
During flowering, removing a few of the larger fan leaves can improve light penetration to lower bud sites. Keep the work selective. The aim is to open crowded areas, not strip the plant bare. Outdoors, AK47 is best suited to temperate or warm conditions and is generally ready around the end of September.
Yield Potential
Under suitable indoor conditions, AK47 can produce around 400–500 g/m². The best results usually come from controlling its height early and spreading the branches across the available grow space.
An even canopy allows more flowering sites to sit within the strongest part of the light. Gradual feeding also helps the plant maintain steady development without wasting time recovering from excess nutrients. Outdoors, plenty of direct sun and a warm finish to the season give the flowers time to fill out before harvest.
Potency & Effects
With THC levels reaching up to 18% and CBD as high as 2%, AK47 offers noticeable potency without sitting at the extreme end of the scale. Its effects are typically creative, energizing, and uplifting, which fits well with the strain’s sativa-dominant background.
The experience is often better suited to daytime, social settings, or creative tasks than quiet evenings when deep relaxation is the goal. Harvest timing can influence that character. Cutting when most trichomes are cloudy, before large numbers turn amber, generally helps preserve the brighter and more energetic side of the strain.
Aroma, Flavor & Terpenes
AK47 has a bold mix of spice, herbs, and skunk rather than the sweeter profile found in many modern hybrids. Myrcene adds earthy depth, pinene brings a fresher herbal edge, and caryophyllene contributes dry pepper and spice.
Those layers give the flowers a classic, full-bodied character that becomes clearer after a careful cure. Drying too quickly can leave the aroma harsher and less defined, while a steady cure helps the herbal and spicy notes settle into a smoother finish.
Who Is AK47 Best Suited To?
AK47 suits growers who want a proven, sativa-dominant classic with enough structure to reward training. It is a good match for indoor growers who can manage some flowering stretch, as well as outdoor growers in temperate or warm climates.
The creative, uplifting effects will appeal to daytime users, while the spicy and herbal profile makes it a strong choice for anyone who prefers traditional cannabis flavors over sweet dessert strains. Complete beginners may need to pay closer attention to height and feeding.
Tips From the MSNL Grow Team
- Top early and use LST to keep the flowering stretch under control.
- Increase nutrients gradually, as AK47 rarely benefits from being pushed hard.
- Remove only the fan leaves blocking important lower bud sites during flowering.
- Harvest with mostly cloudy trichomes to preserve its more uplifting character.
